National audienceThe Neolithic site of Le Pontet is located near the estuary of River Charente. It was identified by E. Bouchet in 2009 on aerial photographs showing the presence of four subparallel and discoutinuous ditches. Their morphologies indicate that they correspond to the late Neolithic period. A high spatial magnetic survey was carried out to map all site using original protocol of magnetic survey. The resulting map is to high quality. It identified the tracing of the causewayed enclosures and highlights two other enclosures, a great entrance with «pinces de crabe» (Crab's pincers), pits and postholes.
